- He was born in **1836** in the village of Kvitiri near Kutaisi, into a family of minor nobility. He worked at the Baku district court, the Kutaisi district court and the provincial administration in Yerevan.
- He was the **first elected city head of Kutaisi** (from the late 1870s).
- After the first elections to the Batumi city duma (1894), he was elected **city head of Batumi** on **25 January 1895** and re-elected in 1898.
- According to Georgian Wikipedia, during his administration swamps around Batumi were drained and storm-water canals were built, and the construction of the city council building began on his initiative.
- He died in **1901** in Batumi and was buried in his native Kvitiri. A monument to him was unveiled in Batumi in 2013.
