Sagharadze Street** (Georgian: ლ. საღარაძის ქუჩა) is a short street **in central Kutaisi, in Mepesutubani**. According to OpenStreetMap (OSM), it is **about 120 m long**. It starts at **Alexander Pushkin Street** and runs south. The street used to be called **Pushkin Street 4th Dead End**. This is stated in Kutaisi City Council resolutions on land prices — resolution No. 219 of 12 July 2013 and a 2023 resolution. Both list it as “L. Sagharadze Street (former 4th dead end of Pushkin Street)”. ## Location According to OSM, the northern end of the street is at Alexander Pushkin Street (about 42.2688° N, 42.7025° E). In the south it meets a flight of steps (about 42.2679° N, 42.7024° E). OSM maps it as a paved residential street. The approximate midpoint is at 42.2683° N, 42.7025° E. Pushkin Street, where it starts, is a one-way cobbled street according to OSM. It connects with Mikheil Davitashvili, Tsminda Nino, Akaki Tsereteli and Guram Fanjikidze Streets. In the City Council resolutions the street is in the **third sub-zone of the central (first) zone** of the city, together with Luka Asatiani (formerly Sadguri), Gagarin and Chiatura Streets. ## The name Official documents give the name only with an initial: “L. Sagharadze”. In OSM the street is mapped as ლევან საგარაძის ქუჩა (the surname is spelled საგარაძე, probably a typo), in English Levan Sagharadze Street. We found no source giving this person’s biography or the date of naming, so the namesake is not confirmed by a document. The name was already in use by 2013, when resolution No. 219 listed the street under its new name. ## Nearby sights - **Kutaisi State Historical Museum** — 18 Pushkin Street; about 0.12 km from the street. - **White Bridge** — about 0.18 km. - **Colchis Fountain** — about 0.43 km. - **Bagrati Cathedral** — about 1 km.
