The street got its current name in December 2025. Tbilisi City Council gave a section of Nadikvari 3rd Street the name of the basketball player Suliko Tortladze. On the same day, the old Suliko Tortladze Street became part of Taboris Mta Street.

Naming history

On 19 December 2025 Tbilisi City Council adopted two decisions on streets in the Krtsanisi district:

  • No. 137 — a section of Nadikvari 3rd Street, an unnamed street next to it and Suliko Tortladze Street were given the name Taboris Mta (Taboris Mta Street was extended). An unnamed dead end next to Suliko Tortladze Street became Taboris Mta 1st Dead End.

  • No. 138 — a section of Nadikvari 3rd Street was given the name of the sportsman and basketball player Suliko Tortladze.

In other words, the name Suliko Tortladze moved from one street to another. The old street became part of Taboris Mta Street, and the new one is a former section of Nadikvari 3rd Street. OSM’s edit history shows this section labelled as Nadikvari 3rd Street until April 2026. We could not find out when the old Suliko Tortladze Street had been named.
