S. Tskhakaia Street (Georgian: ს. ცხაკაიას ქუჩა; full name Sergi Tskhakaia Street) is a street in Tbilisi, in the Saburtalo district, in Didi Dighomi. A 2024 Tbilisi City Council order gives its location as “Saburtalo district, village of Dighomi”.

The street is in an area of new development. In July 2024 the Tbilisi City Council decided to extend it. OpenStreetMap (OSM) currently shows a section about 224 m long.

Location

According to OSM, the street runs from the north-west (about 41.7958° N, 44.7343° E) to the south-east. At its south-eastern end (about 41.7943° N, 44.7362° E) it joins Demetre Tavdadebuli Street. One unnamed service driveway joins it along the way. The middle of the street is at about 41.7948° N, 44.7355° E.

The section mapped in OSM is approximately 224 m long. The 2024 extension may not yet be fully shown on the map, so the street’s current full length is not known.

Transport

There is no metro station near the street. Based on OSM coordinates, the closest stations are Guramishvili (about 5.4 km) and Sarajishvili (about 5.5 km), both in a straight line and on the other bank of the Mtkvari river.

Name and legal acts

The full name “Sergi Tskhakaia Street” appears both in the Tbilisi City Council order and in OpenStreetMap. We could not find the original naming decision in the Legislative Herald of Georgia (matsne.gov.ge). Which Sergi Tskhakaia the street is named after is therefore not documented.

On 12 July 2024 the Tbilisi City Council adopted order No. 378, “On the extension of Sergi Tskhakaia Street in the village of Dighomi, Saburtalo district, Tbilisi”. Under it, Sergi Tskhakaia Street was extended according to an attached map, and Tbilisi City Hall was given four months to carry out the necessary measures.
